Through two preseason games, the Houston Texans have looked pretty good. There are three defenders how have earned playing time so far, let’s take a look.

The Houston Texans secured their second preseason win Saturday night against the San Francisco 49ers. After a week’s worth of practice against each other, it was going to be a high-intensity game. The Texans scored a last-second touchdown to complete the comeback victory.

Against the Chiefs two weeks ago, Deshaun Watson only played one drive where he connected on one pass for four yards. It was great to see him return to the field but, it was not the return the Texans were wanting.

Saturday night, he completed five of eight passes for 73 yards and a great 4th and goal touchdown. It was great to see him execute more plays and accomplish more this go round. It was a boost of confidence that he is going to tear it up come the regular season.

While it has been great seeing Watson return to form, the Houston Texans are still missing their star defenders from the field. JJ Watt, Whitney Mercilus, and Jadeveon Clowney are all returning from injury and Johnathan Joseph doesn’t play much preseason ball due to age. However, this has allowed some younger guys to get some more playing time.

There have been several guys that have balled out in the snaps that they’ve gotten but, three guys rise above the pack. Let’s take a look at these three guys and why they’ve earned regular season snaps.
