Following a close victory against the Kansas City Chiefs last week, the Houston Texans are looking to improve to 2-0 in the preseason against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Houston Texans kick off against the San Francisco 49ers in Houston at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. The game can be watched on ABC 13 just like last week. If you can watch, you can tune in at AM radio 610, the home of Houston Sports Radio or on 100.3 FM, The Bull.

The Texans and the Francisco 49ers got a chance to familiarize themselves with each other this week. The Texans hosted the 49ers for 2 joint practices earlier this week. Those practices went well for both squads and they have a chance to show it off Saturday night in the Texans first home game of the 2018-19 football season.

The 49ers are a team on the rise and are looking to take the leap in year two under Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch. They signed Jimmy Garroppolo to a HUGE extension this offseason and are hoping it pays off in dividends in his first full year as a 49er.

The practices were intense and exciting. The first snap of wide receiver, cornerback one on ones DeAndre Hopkins squared up against Jimmie Ward. Hopkins pulled off a hell of a catch while getting his helmet ripped off. A slight scuffle ensued afterward.

Preseason games don’t really matter towards the course of how the regular season will actually go, but for some players on the roster, these games mean everything to them as they are trying to make the 53 man roster.

Here are my 3 things to watch for in Saturday night’s exhibition.
