Trending Down: Braxton Miller, WR, #13

Oh, the conundrum that is Braxton Miller.  The one time Heisman candidate quarterback who converted to wide receiver his senior year of college is full of potential and athleticism. However, that potential and athleticism have not translated into success on the football field, he’s also had some injuries.

Miller is in a battle for a spot on the 53 man roster. He faces some stiff competition from Keke Coutee, Bruce Ellington, and Sammie Coates. Miller managed three catches but dropped a couple passes and left the game with another injury. There’s no word on this yet but, this could be the injury that makes the Houston Texans move on.

Trending Up: Kick coverage

The woes of the Houston Texans special teams have been long and well documented. For years, the Texans have struggled to field an average special teams unit. Kicking, positioning and accuracy, have been troublesome, as has kick/punt coverage.

In an attempt to fix this issue, the Texans went out and signed Brad Seely from the Raiders. Seely has a 30-year career in coaching with a phenomenal track record with special teams. The team also sought out special teams aces like Johnson Badesmoi, Joe Webb, and Keyes to pair with guys like Brian Peters. So far, the results looked promising. The kick positioning was on point as was the coverage. If this unit can build off of this improvement, the whole team will be better for it.
