Houston Astros: Six reasons not to worry about this team’s adversity
The Bottom Line
Could It Happen Again?
Now, I won’t say it will happen again because I don’t know if all these back-to-back titles are just strange coincidences or not. Maybe it was planned out for Houston to win back-to-back titles in all

these sports just like it was planned for the San Francisco Giants to win three titles in even years in a span of five seasons. There are other potential teams that could have the story written out for them.
It was thirty years ago the Dodgers won their last World Series title in 1988, which featured Kirk Gibson‘s home run. Twenty years ago, the New York Yankees posted 114 wins and won the World Series.
Now the Boston Red Sox might be posting up more wins than anyone else since then and they could be in the hunt. Also, it was 100 years ago that they won before they endured an 86 year curse.
The truth is, we won’t know who wins until the World Series over. But we hope for our sake that it’s us again. After years of misery and frustration, to win one World Series is a dream that came true. But we don’t want to be a one-year wonder.
We would much rather have multiple of these. That’s why our theme is to never settle. We want to be among the most elite franchises of all-time. Will it happen? Who knows?
So for now, the Houston Astros are fighting adversity in their title defense. Injuries, naysayers, better teams and criticisms will probably follow us for the time being. But if there’s a few things that work to our advantage, it’s that we have a resilient ball club, our team is tightly-knit, and we feed off each other as players and fans.
So, if the Houston Astros can get healthy, go back to where we were before the injuries happened, and roll, then there’s a chance we might be looking at something even more special than 2017.
