Houston Texans: Three players most likely to end up in the HOF
By T.A. Mock
Andre Johnson, WR, 2003 – 2016
Andre Johnson is the first guy to retire a member of the Houston Texans that actually has a shot at being enshrined in the pro football Hall of Fame. He is a two-time All-Pro wide receiver with seven Pro Bowl nods, back when the Pro Bowl actually meant a little more.

He is the Texans all-time receiving leader and will be for a while unless Hopkins continues on his current path. Johnson also played one year with the Colts and a half of a season with the Titans. Johnson finished his career with 1,062 catches and 14,185 yards which are both good for 11th all-time in NFL history.
Those numbers are pretty good, obviously, as they are the 11th best. But, he also played on the front end of the pass-heavy offensive movement. So, his numbers are inflated over some legendary wide receivers from previous eras.
He’ll come into Hall of Fame voting around the same time as Reggie Wayne, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Smith. All four of these guys have similar numbers and it could bog down the field and split the vote. So, it may drag down his value a little bit.
But, Johnson’s statistics will eventually prevail in his quest for Canton. With Ownes recent induction, there only remains one wide receiver with 14,000 yards who isn’t in the Hall of Fame, that man would be Isaac Bruce.
Chances: He’ll get in on his second or third attempt
Watt and Johnson are virtual locks for Canton. Watt will be a first ballot guy whenever he’s done. Johnson will get in eventually. Hopkins could join them in this elite category if his career continues on it’s current trajectory.
