The Houston Astros have acquired talented reliever Ryan Pressly from the Minnesota Twins, absolving my concerns about the team not having a closer who could get the job done.  He’s here and here are three things to like about him.

The Houston Astros come off this trade deadline as winners and they got things done before the red-letter date of Tuesday, July 31.  I honestly think that this team is done with trades as they do have a complete roster to compete with the best of the best.

My concerns were heavy as the New York Yankees and Los Angeles Dodgers were stacking their decks to get ready to attempt to beat the Houston Astros come playoff time.

Nobody said it was going to be easy for these Houston Astros to repeat but I honestly think they have just about every tool in the box to try to go out and do this again to make this city more prouder than ever before.

But the Houston Astros were able to also grab hold to Los Angeles Angels catcher Martin Maldonado as depth was badly-needed at the position with Brian McCann recovering from right knee arthroscopic surgery and with Tim Federowicz not quite providing the “pop” the team needed.  Maldonado is easing his way into this Houston Astros rotation and I think he’ll be a fine gem, being able to contribute in key moments.

But the man of the hour is Ryan Pressly so let’s talk about THREE things that I think you’ll like about him.  Let’s get started, shall we?
