Houston Astros: Injury concerns mounting over Carlos Correa
The Houston Astros will be without their All-Star shortstop for a while longer. Needless to say, concerns are really starting to mount.
Carlos Correa had said during spring training that he won’t be satisfied with his career until he gets a league MVP. Unfortunately, it won’t happen for the once rookie of the year during this 2018 season.
Recent tweets have surfaced about the recent condition on Correa. The reports don’t look great. It has already been a whole month since Carlos Correa last played. June 25th, to be precise. Hinch has had him start to throw and run, but the 4th year shortstop has yet to do anything with a bat to this point.

Appropriately, the organization is taking it easy with Correa. Especially, given that his injury is in the back. After all, it is the most vital joint in the entire body. One wrong move and it can completely damage a player. Or worse, could even end his career.
Now, I don’t wish to put any bad vibes on this situation. Like the rest of you, I’m wanting Carlos Correa back in that lineup just as badly. Surely, J.D. Davis, Marwin Gonzalez and others can hold down the fort while he’s out. Additionally, the team still has a comfortable lead in the AL West and are still around 30 games above .500 on the season.
However, one has to wonder whether this is just a mere back problem or something more serious. True, there is only so much that a ball club can inform the public on. Lest we forget, I expressed similar frustrations when Evan Gattis had that month-long concussion last year.
Honestly, the hope is that Carlos Correa will progress well enough to begin a rehab assignment soon. His play will surely be needed when the postseason time comes back around. The Houston Astros are looking for that back to back title run and win.
Next: Five trades the Astros should make
In the meantime, we here at HOH are wishing Carlos Correa all the best in his recovery. Hopefully, it is already one that is painless. But perhaps we can make it a little speedier, shall we?!
