Can We Get Hollywood To Make a Movie?

Well if Orbit can get a picture with Cinderella, why not? But I think we could be getting ahead of ourselves here. As I said, the movie might have to wait. However, I think it would be better off as a mini-series. Ben Reiter’s book is a remarkable piece of literature that many people can potentially see as a national best-seller. If only Red Sox, Yankee and Dodger fans are willing to forgive us for beating them in the playoffs.

But the truth is that this story is better off as a mini-series because you can’t have a story about a baseball team that wins the World Series and think it’s an epic classic. No, you need to incorporate other factors as well. You can’t have this story into a mini-series without Hurricane Harvey and the citizens who helped each other and the struggles they faced. Reiter mentions this briefly. This story can’t be made without the bad decisions made by the Houston Astros that would’ve been fatal to other teams. The naysayers who laughed and criticized when the franchise still stuck with the plan even when L’s overtook W’s.

I talked about my idea of the Astros movie awhile back in another entry. Safe to say, this is going to be a difficult movie to make.

I Thought This Was a Book Review

Ah yes! This is a book review. Which is why y’all should take my advice, go buy the book at your bookstore or online and start reading. This will be your assignment for the summer.

But in all seriousness, we owe a lot to Ben Reiter. He could’ve easily added insult to injury by writing an entry on how bad we were in the Sports Illustrated article. But instead, he saw something that had the makings of a really good story that he gambled on a prediction for 2017’s champions to be us. Is he Nostradamus? Hard to say even though he has us repeating this year. We’ll wait and see.

But for right now, we should give our favorite New Yorker a standing ovation for the work he put into and the belief in us to succeed. Because of this, the SI Cover Jinx is dead and buried. We have a title because of Ben Reiter. Send him to the hall of fame right now. Well, folks, I really enjoyed this book and I hope y’all do too. 5-out-of-5 stars from me.
