The guys who bounced back

Some of these athletes have gone on to have the best season of their career’s following the injury.

Carson Palmer

Palmer had injured his ACL for the second time in eight seasons in 2014. But that didn’t stop Palmer from working on rehabbing. A key thing that happened during the rehab was Palmer working on making his hips stronger or work on his internal range of motion to get better. This paid off for him as he would set a career-high in passing yards, touchdowns, and passer rating while leading the Arizona Cardinals to the brink of the Super Bowl.

Jason Kelce

More from House of Houston

The man with the famous underdog speech at the Philadelphia Eagles victory parade overcame an ACL injury. In his second season, Kelce became the victim of the tear and worked on rehabbing himself. He spent a majority of his time working on his upper body during the process. This would help Kelce play all 16 games the next season, including a trip to the playoffs, and be named the best center by Pro Football Focus.

Chris Harris Jr.

A rising cornerback for the Denver Broncos, Harris’s 2014 season ended in the playoffs with an ACL tear. But rehab allowed him to regain his running ability while trying to eliminate bad mechanics. This would lead him to have a memorable 2015, where he picked up an All-Pro honor and was voted to the Pro Bowl. Oh, and he won a Super Bowl that same season.

So, it’s possible that Deshaun Watson can have a great bounce-back from an injury like that. He seems determined to have an outstanding career and try to lead the Houston Texans to victory. While there is no guarantee that Watson will live up to the success he maintained for the games he played in 2017, it’s always nice to Watson back in uniform.

Hey! That reminds me!

Michael Jordan?

Remember when Dabo Swinney compared Watson to Michael Jordan? Well, guess what? Michael Jordan went through an injury like that, which made him miss the majority of the season.

Well, it was actually a broken foot. But he came back and the rest is history. Who knows? With Watson years down the line, we’ll remember the injury and say the rest is history on a positive note.
