Rockets Up 3-1

This is, by no means, my way of warning you about the Ides of March, although we’re in May. But, if you understand what we’re dealing with, then you’ll understand that the series isn’t over.

So after an outstanding performance in Game Four, Chris Paul is asked by a reporter a question about being up 3-1 and thinking of his first ever trip to the Conference Finals. His response is a classic. Forgive me for the use of bad language from this tweet.

While we can all laugh about the use of “the word” and also about the question being asked, what Paul is stating is that he’s been on the wrong side before. The reason why was because he was on the Clippers when they blew a 3-1 lead against…

Well, do you want me to say it?

So technically, we’re one of two teams to overcome two 3-1 deficits in history. But what happened in 2015 was so remarkable, especially in Game 6 when the Houston Rockets were down by nineteen in a must-win game. Yet, they pulled off one of the most remarkable comebacks with James Harden on the bench.

So we know how to overcome a 3-1 deficit. However, we’re up 3-1 against an up-and-coming Utah squad.
