What Does This Mean?

We live in a society where every accusation is taken seriously. Most of the accusations are probably not true. I personally don’t believe the Astros are cheating. I just feel they have a legitimate pitching staff that is dealing right now that someone got sick of it and decided to say what he did.

Besides, if the Houston Astros were cheating, they would’ve been caught sooner. And if they were caught cheating, what’s the worse that can happen to the Astros?

  1. Hefty fine
  2. Suspensions
  3. Loss of draft picks

I mean come on. It’s not like anything severe will come out of this. The Red Sox were only fined in the Apple Watch scandal. The Cardinals lost draft picks to us after the hacking scandal and former scouting director Chris Correa (no relation to Carlos) was banned from baseball. George Brett’s infamous pine tar home run, that was ruled ineligible at first, was later overruled and he was only ejected for arguing. Pete Rose, banned for life from gambling as were the eight members 1919 Chicago White Sox (Black Sox) who plotted to accept money by throwing the World Series.

Ok, so maybe the words “not like anything severe will come out of this” is not the right way to go here. So scandals big and small have happened. But it doesn’t taint the championship.

Still, it is a pretty big accusation and you can bet the Astros won’t be happy.
