The New York Giants have made their former first-round pick available. He could be more than worth it at the right price.

As long as the asking price isn’t too high, the Houston Texans should be all over Ereck Flowers. Yes, Flowers play during his career thus far has been mostly abysmal.

However, that doesn’t take away the fact he was talented enough to be a first-round pick in 2015. Flowers is a big man, 6’5″ 324 lbs, yet still ran a 5.3 forty dash. The measurable to consider most is he just turned 24 yesterday, April 25th.

Flowers best football is likely ahead of him. In fact, in 2017 he began to take strides that showed improvement. He reached a low point in week two of 2017. He gave up three sacks to Ezekiel Ansah and fans were ready to crucify him.

However, after that point, he did not allow a sack until nearly December. His penalties were also at a career low in 2017, including zero false starts.

More from House of Houston

Is Flowers on track for the hall of fame now? By no means! However, he seems to be on the upswing in terms of his career and play. The final step into him developing into a solid starter very well may be a new environment and new coach.

The Houston Texans took steps to solidify their offensive line this offseason, but the tackle position is still a little murky. Flowers may not be the answer by himself right away, but he could be a part of the solution.

Brian Gaine would be remiss to not look into acquiring the former Miami Hurricane. The price can’t be too high. Former first-round bust Greg Robinson went for a sixth-round pick. That should be a good comparison to what Flowers might go for.

Next: Mock Draft with Trades

The good news? The Houston Texans have three sixth rounds picks. Keep this on your radar late Friday night and on Saturday as Gaine works his way through the draft. We may very well see Flowers name pop up. If a sixth-round pick is the price, he’d be more than worth the roll of the dice.
