Conclusion

More from House of Houston

So here’s the thing. We’re going to be on ESPN’s Not So Top 10 List or on SportsNation. But you know something? We should laugh at the incident because that resembles us as a franchise and as a city. We have plans that we feel will work out in the end. Yet, they don’t go as smoothly as you would think.

For the Houston Astros, a couple of draft picks didn’t pan out and we failed to reach the playoffs a year after winning the wild card in 2015. In our case as a city, our goals to make Houston better took a hit with Harvey. To use the planners behind the unveiling of the banner, the wind decided to cause a problem.

But what do all these misfortunes have in common? A solution and a backup plan. That’s what we saw in the banner event.

We all love Houston because we’re not perfect and we’ll make mistakes. But at least when adversity hits, we respond in kind. No plan will run as smooth as one would think. Tell that to the Rangers fan who choked on a championship once.

Our response can be viewed right here:

So there you have it. We got a banner that will be engraved forever.

But there is one thing we can hope for. Next time we win a World Series, and we will, let’s make sure we set a new record for the fastest banner unveiling ever.

Oh yeah, and for everyone that is still considering us a joke, I got five words for y’all.

Now We Get a Ring!

It’s called swagger and Houston has that.
