The Houston Texans free agent frenzy is under way for 2018 and the giant is far from sleeping.  Here’s some of the latest targets that the team is looking at, which include two New England Patriots’ free agents.  Take a look.

The Houston Texans have been reportedly interested in Nate Solder per John McClain of the Houston Chronicle:

Solder will be the hottest of commodities going into free agency period.  With the legal tampering underway, I’d certainly expect Solder be connected to a numerous amount of teams, including the Texans.

He contributed mightily to the New England Patriots’ offensive line but it will likely be an end of an era for the 29-year-old.  The latest is that the Pats are still interested in the tackle but will likely want him to accept less money.  With the offensive line market always being one of high demand, especially with a premium position like his, he’s rumored to command up to $14 million annually.

Will the Houston Texans pay that much for an offensive lineman?  We’ll have to see about that.

Solder, a 2011 first-round pick (17th overall) should a have fun-filled time fielding offers from a multitude of teams.

After missing 12 games in 2015 with a biceps injury, he has only been out just one game over the past two seasons, proving his durability.

In addition to Solder, the Houston Texans are interested in Malcolm Butler per Michael Giardi of NBC Sports Boston:

Butler was long expected to say his goodbyes to the Pats’ organization, especially because of his infamous benching in this past Super Bowl contest with the Philadelphia Eagles.

He will too be a hot commodity and teams like the Texans will be clamoring among others for his services.  There’s no doubt that he’d certainly be a defensive back that could help shore up some of the problems that the secondary had last season.

The 28-year-old, undrafted corner back out of the University of West Alabama amassed 55 tackles, 12 passes defensed, three forced fumbles, two interceptions and 1.0 sack through all 16 games last season, with he not getting one start in all of those.

Should the Texans go after one or both?  Feel free to share what’s on your mind.
