Plan C – Trade up two of their likely three 3rd round draft picks

When we traded for Deshaun Watson, it was a miracle. But it came with a cost as Houston traded

More from House of Houston

their first and second round picks for this year’s draft. Houston does have a compensatory pick for A.J. Bouye, who I’m sure is glad his season went well in Jacksonville.

But the Texans do have a chance to make up their missed picks from last season. All they have to do is use those picks to trade for OL.

While I pointed out how Thomas felt Solder would fit in perfectly with Houston, you have to consider the opportunities to grab another offensive lineman. Watson had a phenomenal rookie season before he went down.

However, Houston’s O-line has not lived up to their standards and they need help. So Gaine needs to be aggressive and open his check book if you want to fix the picks they gave up for Watson. It would also work to draft a safety in the early rounds.

Conclusion

I’m sometimes don’t know where Thomas’s mind is going. But then again, he might have something here. Sure it wouldn’t be as big of a genius idea as the day Herschel Walker got traded to the Vikings from the Cowboys.

But you know what, even if fans are not always a big part in the war rooms, board meetings, and negotiations for their teams, it never hurts to get a say in. Who knows?

Thomas might be the equivalent of Dwight Clark making “The Catch” or Mark Sanchez making “The Butt Fumble.” But I did promise to write about his ideas and I sure hope Houston takes them into account.
