Houston Texans: Evaluating the 2017 offense by position with outlook
By T.A. Mock
Offensive Recap
Deshaun Watson plugged lots of holes with his ability. What was left was a shell of a team that had a lot of glaring weaknesses.
I’m not going to lie, honestly evaluating this offense has been draining and depressing. There are plenty of holes. There are also plenty of bright spots. The Houston Texans have the best wide receiver in the NFL, the best rookie quarterback this past year, and a solid running back duo. So, no need to get too down!
It will take some work, but there is potential for this entire unit to be VERY dangerous in 2018.

With the Titans and Jaguars making it to the playoffs and the Colts likely to be returning Andrew Luck, the AFC South has a chance to be one of the better divisions in football. Since the division is getting dangerous, we need our offense to get dangerous in order to stay competitive.
Unlike the offense, the majority of defensive lapses from this past season seem to be purely caused by injury. Losing multiple players to injuries devastated this unit and made holes for offenses to exploit.

The return of these players should help plug these holes, but that shouldn’t fix all of the defensive issues. Gaine and the rest of the front office will have some work to do on defense as well. Stay tuned for a defensive examination shortly!
God bless and go Houston Texans!
