The Houston Texans 2017 season has officially come to a close.  This season was rife with injury and disappointment. However, in spite of the 4-12 record there is still a lot reason for optimism. Over these slides, I will be examining the state of the Houston Texans offensive roster.

The Houston Texans seemed to have finally found a franchise quarterback after drafting Deshaun Watson. The defense was starting the year healthy after an injury-riddled 2016. The season was looking bright before it even started. The good times kept rolling, that is until the injuries took the team by storm. In a matter of weeks, the team had lost three of its stars in Watson, J.J. Watt, and Whitney Mercilus.

The Houston Texans, led by Tom Savage and T.J. Yates the rest of the way, seemed to falter at every step. The offense, outside of DeAndre Hopkins, sputtered to a halt. The defense rarely seemed to get stops. Ultimately, the team that finished the season resembled nothing but the skeleton of the team that started the season. New General Manager, Brian Gaine, has his work cut out for him, as probably one-third of the roster needs turnover.

Over the course of this slide show, I’ll take a look at the offensive roster and examine where the team is at. A defensive evaluation is underway and will be out shortly so stay tuned! The 4-12 record isn’t without some glaring reasons, but with a healthy season this team is much better off than this record seems to indicate. Keep reading as I tell you why.
