PHOENIX, AZ – NOVEMBER 16: Houston Rockets guard James Harden /

Houston Rockets fans, there’s good and bad news in regard to James Harden’s injury, which would you like first to get things started?  It’s not all doom and gloom, here’s an outlook of what’s to come.

The bad news: Houston Rockets guard James Harden has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain.

The two-time MVP runner-up will be re-evaluated in two weeks. Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets have lost five of six and will play at least the next half dozen games, if not several more, with the Beard on the sidelines.

The good news: Chris Paul is back and healthy.

Assuming he can stay that way, it may be a tad too soon to panic in James Harden’s absence.

There aren’t a lot of numbers on the Rockets without Harden, and for good reason. It doesn’t happen often. The five-time All-Star has missed just 15 games in the past five seasons in Houston, including just two games since the calendar hit 2015. That’s two games missed in three years!

Of all the great qualities Harden brings to the table, his durability has been one of his best and most consistent, so the Rockets find themselves in unchartered territory since they acquired him back in 2012.
