Houston Sports fans, Christmas Day is only hours away! Can you believe it? This year has been crazy, especially if you are a Houston Sports fan. There are a few things I really wish for when it comes to the future of our teams….

First off Houston Sports fans, Merry Christmas from the staff at House of Houston!

Earlier this month, your kids or you even told Santa on your own what was wanted for Christmas. I’m sure many people’s wishes came true when our Houston Astros won the World Series or especially when the Houston Texans drafted a franchise QB in Deshaun Watson.

Now, it’s time to come up with more wishes for our Houston Sports teams.

Here are my three wishes:

1. Deshaun Watson leads the Houston Texans to the Super Bowl

It’s long overdue. Texas is known as a football state and sadly, outside of the largely-begotten AFL championships earned back in 1960-61, the great city of Houston has zero professional championships when it comes to football.

A lot of the old-school Oilers fans remember the Mike Renfro catch in the end zone which would have possibly sent Houston to the Super Bowl back in 1979:

And we also try to forget this one:

Those two moments will forever be one of the most dreadful times in Houston sports history. But fear not! Those days of gloom and depressing seasons are behind us!

I truly think we have the guy. Deshaun Watson WILL BE THE QB THAT WINS THE CITY OF HOUSTON ITS FIRST PRO FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP.  It has been said countless times, all he does is win every where he goes! Those games weren’t a fluke, he’s got the poise of a Hall of Fame QB and can just sling it down field.

It annoys me when people compare him to Robert Griffin III because he got injured early his career, Watson is better inside the pocket and unlike Griffin knows how to slide and not take the hit when running. Remember, 18 out of 19 of Watson’s TD’S were from INSIDE THE POCKET.

Obviously, there is a lot of work to do around the roster. We need a lock down secondary and a somewhat good O-Line, but I trust that going forward the team makes the right moves toward a Super Bowl roster.

2. LeBron James becoming part of the Houston Rockets

Would be cool right? Obviously A LOT would have to happen in order for LeBron James to come to the Space City. We’d probably lose Trevor Ariza and a few other players, but hey, he’s the king of basketball.

Imagine seeing James Harden and LeBron’s best friend Chris Paul serve him up some ally oops at the Toyota Center in a Rockets uniform!

Now, LeBron has said in years past that HE WANTS TO play with CP3 sometime in the future, so is Houston the destination? Could a team with LeBron, CP3, Harden and a developing star in Clint Capela be the greatest team in NBA history? We shall see….

3. The Houston Astros repeat in 2018

In baseball, it’s very complicated to repeat. But you know, this city has won back-to-back

More from House of Houston

championships before.

The Astros ALCS opponent the New York Yankees have gone full “90s Yankees” mode and are building the best team money can buy as they have added NL MVP right-fielder Giancarlo Stanton and now looking at adding stud shortstop/third baseman Manny Machado and RHP Gerrit Cole.

But once again, fear not! The Astros are champions, they are battle tested and ready for any team and hopefully in 2018 we will have another moment like this…

Hopefully all of this list comes to fruition — we’ll have to see!
