HOUSTON, TX – DECEMBER 13: Houston Texans defensive end Jadeveon Clowney /

The legend of Houston Texans defensive end/linebacker Jadeveon Clowney began at South Pointe High School in Rock Hill, S.C., expanding his legacy at the at the University of South Carolina and his status arrived at an apex as the number one overall pick to the Houston Texans.  But he went on a steep decline afterwards; but since then, Clowney has since clawed his way back to super stardom.  I’m going to tell you how he’s elevated from a bust to a superstar.

I remember watching videos on twitter of the Houston Texans Jadeveon Clowney when he and I were both still in high school. I also remember thanking God that he lived in South Carolina and I lived in Texas. This guy has been an absolute force since he was a teenager. This thought only strengthened throughout his days as a Gamecock, culminating with his final game against Michigan.

The legend had grown to be bigger than any player I could remember. There didn’t seem to be much question that he would be a top pick after declaring for the draft after his junior year. After much speculation, Rick Smith and the Houston Texans brass decided pairing Clowney with JJ Watt was too good of a combination to pass up and the team selected him with the first overall pick.
