Some things that you wouldn’t expect to see

 #1 Just the World Series

This covers just the World Series. They do show flashbacks to the postseason a bit, but not much. This was done in last year’s World Series film between the Cubs and the Indians. We always like how the season started to the postseason. But for some reason, MLB decided to change the format that they used from 2000-2014.

I don’t mind the current format, but I really prefer a format with the regular season, but for many years, MLB showed highlights of the World Series at the end. The Justin Verlander trade does get talked about as does Hurricane Harvey. But they cover about one to two minutes each.

#2 The Dodgers Are There

Because this was the World Series, you’ll see interviews with our players. But you’ll also see interviews with the Dodger players as well. From Chris Taylor to Justin Turner, each team was given an interview during the course of the series. When you watch Games 1 and 4, the Dodgers will have the attention for the bit. But you’ll also see Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander talk about the games they pitched and couldn’t get the win.

#3 No Yuli Gurriel Incident

One of the things that I was wondering was whether or not the Yuli Gurriel incident would be featured. However, I read an article saying that it was not in the film because it had no direct outcome on the series. Sure enough, that was a promise made and kept. When you see Gurriel cross the plate in Game 3 after homering off Yu Darvish, nothing is mentioned.

#4 How Can You Not Love Jose Altuve?

Yes, Jose Altuve is featured. In fact, the cameras went to his house where they captured him hanging out his with his wife and daughter. You’ll see how humble of a person he really is. Every dad, wife, and child will wish they had an Altuve in the family.
