Houston Astros: The Top 10 heroes of the team’s successful postseason run

We’re never going to forget this World Series championship for the Houston Astros. We certainly won’t dismiss the idea that we won against three storied franchises and that we clinched it just two months after Harvey.

However, we must also realize that like us, the Houston Astros were Houston Strong.  Here are 10 factors that enabled the team to have elevated success through the postseason.

It’s been over a week of post-Houston Strong and what’s my update on processing all of this? I’m still in a dream. It doesn’t seem real, but I know it is. We all for sure know that it’s real and that Houston Strong paid off for us.

Of course, we’re not suggesting that cities like Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Chicago, or Dallas copy us whenever something bad happens because, number one, we wish no ill-effect towards your city and number two, you might not duplicate the success.

That’s Right! It’s Houston Strong!

Oh yes, it’s true. Houston Strong indeed. Of course, we have to ask ourselves a question.

What is Houston Strong?

We can all simply say that Houston Strong is us overcoming any obstacle or disaster and building positive moments out of that. Or we can say Houston Strong is showing any naysayer that no matter what they throw, we’re going to fire back and get them. For instance:

• People still might be struggling to live in their homes because of damage, but they still enjoy life and are happy. That’s Houston Strong!
• We might be facing a crisis that could cause problems at work, home, and beyond. But in spite of that, everyone still has the fight and the swagger to carry on with their lives. That’s Houston Strong!
• You can find yourself with feelings for your best friend, who’s dating someone else and still believe that you two are meant to be together. That’s….a little too much there.

But my point is, everybody has dealt with Houston Strong in their lives. The Houston Astros are no exception.

Do I Sense a Top 10 List?

You’re darn right you do. I’ve decided to come up with a top 10 moments.

But this is not a top 10 best Houston Astros postseason moments. One of our fellow writers here at House of Houston already did that so I don’t want to cause any confusion.

These are top 10 moments of Houston Astros that showed true Houston Strong. Some of these moments will most definitely be on your top 10 best playoff moments list. But these moments show us what it means to be Houston Strong. It could something you’ll remember or something that you should remember.

They could come from superstars or role players.

Probably, moments could come from a classic World Series or one of the seven wins in the ALDS and ALCS.

Whatever you remember from this postseason or beyond, just remember these moments. Whenever you feel the sense of desperation in your life, you can always look back at one of these moments and smile knowing that was Houston Strong.
