In retrospect to the Houston Astros, it’s hard to consider writing what we just witnessed last night and here are three emotions I went through to get there.

It’s something that we never thought would happen. For 55 years, we struggled to picture the moment when the final out was recorded. You can imagine a championship coming, but you just didn’t know when. But what’s hard is how one reacts to the moment it happens.

I’ll be honest. I can’t write this. I really can’t write this. The words to describe what took place are hard to come by. How do I talk about the biggest night Houston Astros history and for our fans? What do I say? Where do I start? How does a championship feel right now?

I can’t decide what to feel. But I guess I have to describe everything that’s happened. To do that, I have to go back to the beginning.

After we won Game 5 to go up 3-2, I was so thrilled and excited because we were one win away from the championship. I never once thought we would get this close before. But we finally did and I was pumped up. Of course, I was aware that Yasiel Puig guaranteed a game seven. To be honest, I thought nothing of it other than he was expressing confidence in his team. Let him have the right to do that.

Of course, with games six and seven back in Los Angeles, I had to drive back from Houston to the location of my current job. And that’s where everything took a turn.
