Back to the Problem

So knowing what we feel about tonight, it’s going to come down to Option A or B. Which do you prefer?

Obviously, you all will want to say A. You want Jose Altuve to be the hero to get the big hit or Alex Bregman. Maybe George Springer or Carlos Correa can do the job. Give Dallas Keuchel and Justin Verlander a chance to redeem themselves and be the hero. Or maybe, just maybe, have Ken Giles pitch with the bases loaded and two outs and have him get the last strike.

But there is a third option.

Scenario #3

All scenarios can happen. That’s what makes Game 7 what it is. There’s no clear answer as to who will win. We will win Game 7 or the Dodgers will win Game 7. I can’t decide for sure. No one can. That’s why Game 7 will be the biggest game in our franchise history.

What better way to #EarnHistory than to win in Game 7 on the road against a storied franchise like the Dodgers? It’s going to be a tough war, but knowing us, I think we can do it tonight.

I think we’re going to win and I think my dream and our dream will come true. Then perhaps, we might have someone ask what we’re going to do next.

Next: Three reasons why it was the World Series or bust

But in all fairness, either way, whether we win or lose Game 7 shouldn’t determine our season as a failure. Nor should it to the Dodgers. Whoever wins in the end, the other team will have the better reason of they lost because the other team was better. I think we’ve earned everyone’s respect and admiration. But it’s going to be sweeter to win tomorrow. I do hope it happens. But if it’s not meant to be and we have to wait until next year or the year after to win it all, so be it.

Go Houston Astros.
