This week was one that encapsulated an endless range of emotions for the Houston Astros.

One minute, the Houston Astros are up 2-0 going to New York. Next minute, they’re down 3-2 heading home to Houston. People went from excitement to despair in a matter of days. But even so, there was always a feeling that we can do this even if it was a million to one. That’s why the game of Chutes and Ladders was a factor this week.

I’m back Houston Astros fans! I’m happy and I’m still in the state of everything you can ask for when you just won the pennant. Don’t believe me Chutes and Ladders?

Okay! Now that we have that out of the way, let’s discuss a few things.

WHERE WERE YOU?

First off! There were two reasons I was away from this site for a week.

The first reason I was out for awhile was because I didn’t want to feel like I was writing on a consistent basis. I appreciate the support and comments from fans even if some are negative. But I didn’t want to write about everything in the series.

The other reason I didn’t write was because like so many fans, I was experiencing the ups and downs of this week. It’s a touchy subject to describe, but I was severely depressed after game five. I wasn’t in any dark spots. It was just that I struggled to find happiness after the losses.

I think the fact that we went from going up 2-0 to being down 2-3 tells the stories. As an Houston Astros fan, I’ve seen so many heartbreaks in my life. 2015 was a tough pill to swallow. 2005 was brutal. 2004 was just like the world ended.

But I just couldn’t accept the idea that we would lose this year. Not after we won 101 games with a team led by an MVP candidate, a veteran pitcher, and more. Not after we went through the worst natural disaster in US History since Hurricane Katrina. And certainly not after we went from bad to championship potential.

Even if we had lost, I knew we had a chance to win it all next year and so on. But I couldn’t accept losing. I couldn’t take the idea of the Yankees and Dodgers in the World Series.
