3. The Memory Remains

The team traded Nori Aoki and Teoscar Hernandez to the Toronto Blue Jays for Francisco Liriano at the July 31st deadline. The plan was to turn this once starter into a lefty specialist out of the bullpen. One that can even rival the likes of Tony Sipp on the roster.

Unfortunately, not only has that plan failed, but so have both of these players. To increase team chances of winning, Liriano and Sipp will, very likely, NOT make the Houston Astros post season roster.

Additionally, Mike Fiers has sealed his fate with this team after receiving a five-game suspension a couple of weeks back. This punishment came as the result of him throwing a pitch over the back of the head of former Astro, Luis Valbuena. Not handling the situation well has likely cost him his own spot on the Houston Astros post season r

oster.

The remaining players not listed have not fully lived up to their potential throughout the season. Tyler White is the only exception to this. Should they decide not to carry Fisher as a 5th outfielder, Great White can find himself sneaking into a roster spot.

We will certainly see how this, and other situations, develop as the playoffs approach.
