When the Houston Texans selected J.J. Watt 11th in first round of 2011 Draft, we booed him profusely.

One pick six in the playoffs later, he has become a Houston Texans fan favorite. Three Defensive Player of the Year Awards and two 20+ sack seasons later, he’s a Houston superstar. All of these qualities have made number 99 a sports hero. But his recent actions during Harvey have made him a Houston legend. This is “A Football Life” featuring J.J. Watt narrated by me.

Have y’all ever seen the TV show “A Football Life?” The one that plays every Friday night talking about the past and current players? You might remember Vince Lombardi and his coaching methods with the Giants, Packers, and Redskins.

How about Kurt Warner and his journey from a grocery store to the NFL? What about Brett Favre and how we identified with him as a human being? Oh yeah! There was one about the 1993 Houston Oilers too.

All those features are great. But right now, what is happening with Watt is something that should be featured. Hopefully, they’ll have it on next year or two.

But for now, we’ll have one of our own. I’ll summarize his life for y’all in a heartbeat.
