Houston Astros: Three ways this team can be an escape after Harvey
Thing #2: We Have A Purpose Now
Going into 2017, we knew something good was going to happen with the Houston Astros. However, we didn’t know how good. Soon we started playing very well and had a 60-29 record by the All-Star Break. Already, people were talking World Series and how good we can be. We felt like it’s our year.
Then comes the grind of the game. We start playing .500 ball and to make matters worse, we lose key members to injury. Add in the frustration of not making a big move at the Trade Deadline and we felt lost. We felt like we didn’t have the motivation to play. It seemed like we were going through the motions every game. Sure, we were trying to win, but it wasn’t showing on the results.

Fans start losing faith and people wonder if this really is our year. What we really needed was something to wake us up and give us a reason to play.
We didn’t ask for it. We hate that it’s happening right now. But in a strange twist, we have a purpose now. This is why we have to win it all.
Houston will continue to recover. Who knows how long it will take? Will it be two months? Six months? A year? Who the heck knows? But what we do know is that we have a reason to win.
So many people right now are struggling with this nightmare and need happiness. They will find it, but would you rather have it when the city is fully recovered or now?
