Houston Astros: Five biggest road blocks to a World Series title

The Houston Astros remain atop the American League standings and are pretty much a lock for a playoff spot possessing a 13.5 game division lead with 32 games to go.

Since the Houston Astros are almost assuredly going to play baseball come October, it’s time to start looking at our potential playoff foes and seeing who could cause the biggest problems and get in the way of our first world series title in franchise history.

Of course it is not a given that we will face the following five teams, but the playoff picture becomes more clear with each passing day and it is seeming as though we have a good sense of who will be our challengers when autumn baseball hits.

The criteria of course is that these teams need to already be in the playoff hunt. However we will be ranking them from least likely in our path to most likely in our path, which will be determined by the likelihood we face these teams in the post season, and how their strengths match up against our weaknesses and vice versa.

So without further a due, here are the teams that can be the biggest impediment to the Astros World Series title chances…
