Houston Sports: Three concerns of being a die-hard fan
What do I wish for?
In hindsight, I’ve always dreamed of being there when we win it all. My parents say I saw the 1994-95 Rockets win the NBA Championship, but I don’t remember a thing. I have seen the highlights and replays of the games. But it doesn’t bring me as much joy as a championship now would.
Sure I like watching these videos and reminding myself of the great times. But I know I would feel extremely happy if I see a championship live.
Even though I believe in God and try to pray as much as I can, I know he won’t automatically give us a championship. It wouldn’t be fair for him to grant us a title when other cities like Sacremento, Orlando, Salt Lake City, Buffalo, or San Diego are still waiting for one.
My hope is that I would see it happen sooner rather than later. I want to see it happen live so that I’m not only watching it. But I also want to experience it with my two siblings who were born after 1995.

I’m not a negative fan and I support my team through and through. It’s not easy suffering, but I do know this. When that day comes, I’ll be there. I’ll see it live and I will cheer. It will be in the top five best moments for me along with marriage, the birth of my kids, having great relationships with family and friends, and enjoying great days for the rest of my life.
