What Happened on August 26th?

Aug. 26, 2017 was a reminder of just how cruel the sports world is. Astros fans hated seeing a team blow a 6-1 lead to lose.

The Texans can’t even score on offense while their defense was their defense.

It didn’t even help that my frustrations over watching a Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight were ruined by an outcome that I knew would happen.

It seemed like the only thing that made me happy was hearing about the Lufkin Little League team going to the finals of the Little League World Series. That’s a great story given the circumstances with our state.

I don’t know if you could say everyone was worried about the Hurricane and what damages it can do to Houston. Or was it just a bad day that can be made up the next day with better results? But the fear was there no matter how you looked at it.

What’s My Biggest Fear?

Although I have a lot of things bothering me, there are three fears that stand out.

Number one is that I’m single and I won’t find a great woman in my life. I’m not writing this as a way to seek out dates now. That’s just how I feel. And if I get married and we have kids, would I be the best dad? I know I would give it everything I have to be a great dad. But it’s a lot of hard work.

Number two is will I be the best employee and person to people. I know not everyone will like me, but I have to give it all to be respected and admired for my hard work.

And number three is that I fear the Astros, Rockets, and Texans will lose every game from now on. My worst nightmare is that Houston sports won’t win a championship when I’ll see it live.
