The Houston Astros will conclude their series against the Los Angeles Angels today but because of the effects of Tropical Storm Harvey, it will be difficult for them to return home.

What was once Hurricane Harvey, the aforementioned has had tremendous effects on millions of people here in South Texas, including many who are Houston Astros fans.  With extensive damage scaling hundreds of miles up the Gulf Coast with catastrophic flooding still taking place in the Houston area, it certainly has been trying times for many residents.  My thoughts and prayers continue to go out to all of those who are affected by such a tragic event and I certainly hope that they get the assistance that’s needed.

I’m in this as well as I’m a lifelong resident but I’m currently on high ground and still have access to the necessary utilities to write this piece that you’re reading now.  I encourage any of you reading this to donate, if you can, to the American Red Cross to help aid their recovery efforts as there are many people who need it.

But now I’ve got that off my chest, the Houston Astros are going to possibly be making plans to change their venue for their upcoming Tuesday through Thursday series at Minute Maid Park.

The Houston Chronicle’s Jake Kaplan reported that the team will fly to Dallas after Sunday’s game is over as per A.J. Hinch:

In turn, as per Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the Texas Rangers will fly back to Dallas tonight as well.  Hobby Airport, the facility used by most ball clubs, is closed as its runways/infrastructure are underwater:

Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports mentioned that it’s possible that the teams will swap venues for the upcoming series but as a last resort.  The Astros are scheduled to take on the Rangers one more time which would be Monday, Sep. 25-27 at Globe Life Park.  They have to refer to that last resort as it’d make sense for them to do the swap so that they don’t have doubleheaders.

We’ll have to see how this pans out but quite frankly I’m sure more important things are on the minds of the players as many have families that live here.  But in the objective of ensuring you get the news that you deserve, this was an important tidbit to all Astros faithful.

Let’s hope for the best and Godspeed to all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Go Astros.
