The Houston Rockets have been involved in some of the greatest comebacks and tense games in NBA history. So much so that during their two year championship reign, the team developed the nickname of Clutch City for how they performed when games came down to the wire.

We Houston Rockets fans have fond memories from those 1994 and 1995 championship seasons. But those weren’t the only seasons that had some of the most memorable shots in franchise history.

We’ve seen a lot of great eras of basketball since the Rockets came over from San Diego in 1971. From Moses Malone to Ralph Sampson to Hakeem Olajuwon alongside Clyde Drexler to Tracy McGrady alongside Yao Ming and all the way up to the current era of James Harden.

There have been so many memorable buzzer beaters and shots that deflated our opponents, not just from the super stars but from unexpected heroes like Eddie Johnson, Mario Elie and Kenny Smith. Big time shots that will forever stick in the psyche of any true member of Rockets nation.
