The Houston Rockets NBA training camp is roughly three weeks away and the 2017-2018 season is roughly two months out, it’s time to make some bold roster predictions.

With the off season in the doldrums and clicks being the lifeblood of online journalism, I think it’s appropriate to engage in the most useless of preseason exercises for the Houston Rockets.

Yes, I’m talking about way too early predictions. A classification of write ups that paints writers into a corner, has no ability to adjust to future moves, injuries, or unforeseen circumstances. Why do this? Well, why not? You want content, I have nothing else to do, so let’s both scratch an itch.

This series will cover way too early prognostications. ESPN kicked off with their win projections – we’ll touch on those in a later write up – so the game officially begun. I’m going to dip my toe in the water in far less bold territory.

The Rotation

Mike D’Antoni, the master of a “four-man” rotation in the playoffs — featuring special guest appearances such as fatigue, burnout, and collapse — has at his disposal a tantalizing cache of options. Perhaps the greatest boon for D’Antoni is the lack of young players in critical roles. He continues to be focused on offense, disregards defense, hates young players and more receptive to foreign players.  All of these attributes are a perfect storm indicating that he should have a hard time restricting his rotations given these assets.
