Injuries

We knew that injuries would occur. But for the most part, we’ve been managing to dodge major bullets with injuries. From 7-day concussions to 10-day series, we haven’t dealt with too much. Then again, we did lose Keuchel for two months and Correa is still rehabbing in his six-to-eight week stretch.

Have the injuries affected us? There’s no question they have. It’s not easy dealing with injuries let alone, dealing with players returning from the DL. I think we can all conclude that we expected our pitchers to struggle in their returns. But now, it’s become a point of concern. Our pitchers have not pitched very well.

Yes, our goal as of now is to get healthy for October. But there does seem to be panic amongst fans that because of the injuries, we’re not playing well. However, if there’s one thing this injury bug taught us, it’s that our future looks bright with the prospects.

Juan Centeno and Tyler White have both made their presence felt when they were up. Those two have contributed to success with the franchise. White had a two-homer game while Centeno delivered a walk-off single to beat Toronto. So we have a couple of shining stars.

Guess what? We also have Altuve, who is playing like the frontrunner for the MVP. And who else has stepped up? Alex Bregman? Yes, that kid is hitting the baseball too. If only he had done that earlier.

But I can see what you think now. Even with those two, we’re still playing .500 ball. Ok then! Blame it on the fact that we had a 60-29 first half. That’s an incredible start. We can easily go .500 for the rest of the season and still clinch the playoffs.
