Houston Texans: My dream Super Bowl matchup for the ages
#4 Seattle Seahawks
The fourth and final runner-up would be the Seattle Seahawks. We were first amazed by them when they had their Legion of Boom defense led by Richard Sherman. After they demolished the Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII, we expected them to be a dynasty. Even after one questionable call by Pete Carroll (who had another questionable call at USC), we still expected them to return. But they haven’t for some reason, which leads us to question whether they’re at the end of their run or are they considered a one-year wonder like the 85 Bears or the 2002 Buccaneers.
It’s not fair to say that, but with the drama going on involving Sherman and Russell Wilson and the memories of the interception still hanging over them, the Seahawks might be on their last gasp of fresh air before the time runs out. They might be the Oklahoma City Thunder of the NBA who had their best chance to beat Golden State in 2016, but blew a 3-1 lead. Then a star player leaves the team, joins the Warriors, and the rest is history.
So all that’s left is for some player to leave the team and go to a talented one. Oh, wait! It already has? Marshawn Lynch came out of retirement to join the Oakland Raiders. So that process has already happened.
Conclusion
So if Seattle needs to show they still have what it takes to be a team for the ages, a Super Bowl win against any opponent is all that’s necessary. That does include the Houston Texans as an opponent. For Houston, it would be a chance to redeem themselves after losing to Seattle back in 2013 when they blew a 20-3 lead. They’ll have their first chance at redemption when they visit Seattle in Week 8.
But personally, I can’t see how Seattle return to their greatness they had for two seasons. I also don’t know what satisfaction Houston would get if they do beat Seattle. So I will say this Super Bowl match is totally not worth having in my eyes.
