# 1 Atlanta Falcons

For the Falcons, this upcoming season is all about one thing: redemption. In case you missed it, I’ll give you two numbers: 28-3. You can figure out the rest. But the only thing that saves them from the ultimate humiliation is a team formerly from Houston that went seven better. WATCH IF YOU DARE!

So this season will see the Falcons try to get back to the Super Bowl and hopefully win it for Atlanta, who like us, also needs a championship badly. I mean with MVP Matt Ryan leading the charge and a high-powered offense, what can go wrong? Well let’s go back to school.

Let’s start with history. No team that lost a Super Bowl has ever gone back to the big game the following season since the 1993 Buffalo Bills. The Carolina Panthers had problems after Cam Newton’s bad decision to not grab a fumble and postgame interview walkoff. Seattle’s Seahawks were never able to relive the last play where they should’ve handed the ball off to Marshawn Lynch in Super Bowl 50. What are the chances the Falcons return?

Time for geography! Both teams are located in the southern United States. With the exception of this year’s Super Bowl in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the next three of four Super Bowls will take place in Atlanta, Miami and Tampa Bay. So if you were to have a Super Bowl between two southern teams in a southern city, fifty percent of the country might be hyped up over the game.

What about the north? Fine Arts indicates that people up there, though they’ll watch the game itself, would hope for another rendition of Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Beyonce to live up to their Super Bowl day.

Conclusion

And one other thing before I forget. The Falcons want redemption. If they do beat the Houston Texans in the Super Bowl, would that be redemption? Maybe, but not to the certain degree that it would if next year was a rematch between the Falcons and the Patriots.

So all in all, this would be an exciting matchup with a great offense against a stellar defense. But it’s not what I had in mind.
