This reason is similar to reason number one. But it goes beyond the game of basketball. In a way, there is some sense of a rivalry between the city of Boston and Houston in sports terms.

You have the Texans, who have beaten the New England Patriots at least one time in the last game of the 2009 NFL regular season. But as of recently, the Patriots have defeated the Texans anyway possible, including two playoff games, which were no contest.

The Astros and Red Sox have yet to meet in the playoffs. If the Astros season continues like it has been, then there’s a chance they’ll have their showdown against the Red Sox, which could be an ALCS matchup.

Our only success against a Boston team in a game of high magnitude came from the Houston Dynamo, who won back-to-back MLS Cups against the New England Revolution.

But even beyond that, the sportswriters and columnists of Boston had their shots at the city of Houston. Remember the Super Bowl? One Boston columnist talked about how Houstonians dealt with freezing temperatures. Not too wise buddy because can you imagine it being summer and Houston playing at Boston in 90-degree weather. Can you imagine one of our columnists writing a column saying “It’s Hot and Humid in Boston and People Here Are Complaining?” I mean, it’s not like Boston dealt with heat before.
