Cleveland Cavaliers

Any team with LeBron James on it has to be in the NBA Finals, right? After all, we haven’t missed him since 2011. Sure, he’s three-of-eight in finals appearances. But who better to represent the East than the King himself and the Cavaliers? That’s maybe what most fans are thinking. However, it’s not who I had in mind. Sure, the Cavaliers have Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love along with James. But beating the Cavaliers wouldn’t bring as much joy to the Houston Rockets because there have been others to defeat LeBron including the Spurs, the Warriors, and the Dallas Mavericks.  So while I’m okay with beating LeBron, I personally wouldn’t find any satisfaction knowing that we just defeated a LeBron-led team because it’s becoming a common theme nowadays in the finals. Then again, LeBron might not even be with Cleveland even given the off season issues going on with that franchise.

Chicago Bulls

The old debate of what would’ve happened if Michael Jordan had not retired for a year-and-a-half still lingers on. Would the Houston Rockets have won their two NBA titles fair and square? To me and I think all Houston Rockets fans would agree with what we feel is the truth and that is that no matter what, the Houston Rockets would find a way to beat the Bulls. Of course, that was in the 90s and the Bulls have not been the same team even though they had some success. With Dwayne Wade leading the squad, the Bulls have not lived up to the expectations of winning a championship to Chi-town. So if the Houston Rockets defeated the Bulls, it would not be a statement of I told you so because we’re two decades apart from the 90s.
