The offseason goes on and the Houston Rockets look to add more talent to their roster for next year. But while the expectations may range from NBA Finals to no playoffs, it’s okay to dream once in a while.

As Houston Rockets fans, we strive to win the NBA Finals. I personally do believe along with everybody that we are going to win another one. Haters can say what they want, but the truth is they don’t know our team much like we do. So we can have the confidence of expecting another ring in Houston even as James Harden sides with Chris Paul. Then there is a possible alignment with Carmelo Anthony, should he decide to join the Houston Rockets.
Now with that said, I think it would be ok to talk about a potential opponent for the Houston Rockets if they make the NBA Finals. It’s not like this finals match up is going to happen anytime soon. It may not happen this season or the next. But it’s something that fans like to dream about. We’ve all dreamt of the day the Houston Rockets would win their third NBA Title even if it’s on NBA 2K. Whoever the opponent is would have to suffer from defeat to Clutch City.

Our Dream Begins

But let’s say the Houston Rockets reach the NBA Finals soon. We would have to get by the Golden State Warriors. Every fan’s dream playoff run must include an upset of the Warriors. After all, if it wasn’t for the San Antonio Spurs and a horrific game six, we would’ve been playing the Warriors. The chances of us winning would’ve been slim. But the Houston Rockets might’ve had a punchers chance to take one game from the Warriors. But in our dreams, the Houston Rockets just defeated the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals. After a small party, they are now in the NBA Finals for the fifth time in franchise history. The only question that remains is who will come out of the Eastern Conference.
Now I’ve had this debate in my head for quite some time and to be honest, I actually have one particular opponent in mind. But let’s figure out the teams that could be in contention.
