The Houston Astros have hit a slight bump in the road with not only this series but with the injury bug as well.

The Houston Astros are flirting with the possibility of being swept in a series for the first time this season.

The effort has truly been there; but, some reason, this team can’t get over the hump with the guys because they match up so well.

And besides, they’re the defending AL champs., they’re not a pushover and there’s no reason to expect them to be.

They’ve only won one of their last six meetings but I have no doubt that they’ll get it together.

But the injury bug has bit our guys a bit over the past couple days as news has trickled out of 501 Crawford.

Yesterday, we found out that Dallas Keuchel will be out with a pinched nerve in his neck with a stint on the 10-Day disabled list.

He’s expected to miss one start and then ready to go on his next scheduled start this Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles.

But there’s more…

According to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com, catcher Brian McCann will spend some time on the 7-Day DL with a concussion:

McTaggart also went into detail of what might’ve caused the concussion:

I had wondered what had been going on because McCann just didn’t look like himself this week, he struck out quite a bit although he did everything he could to help his team win.

But this should be something minor that’ll blow over quickly and he’ll be back in lineup retaining the “beastly” status that he has had thus far.

In a corresponding move for depth, the Astros have called up catcher Juan Centeno who has been hitting .368 with seven doubles and nine ribbies in 22 games for Triple-A Fresno.

But his amazingly glaring .882 OPS is certainly a positive note, knowing that the can hit proficiently to get on base.

Next: Time to rethink Carlos Beltran at DH?

It’ll be a short stint but we’ll get to see the impact of Centeno in the lineup when Evan Gattis needs a break during the week.

But nonetheless and most importantly, we just need to win today’s game against the Indians which will definitely keep on track in ruling the MLB.

McCann has been hitting .269 with 29 hits, 25 RBIs and six homers through 108 at-bats this season.

Go Astros.
