We’ve got one more day to go before the NFL Draft Houston Texans fans and countdown has certainly been underway.

All of the research, scouting reports, interviews and workouts will all come to fruition as our team works in concert to pick the best available young talent to help this roster continue to be competitive.

Here’s a breakdown of the Houston Texans draft picks for the NFL Draft, scheduled to run April 27 through 29:

Round 1: 25th pick (25th overall)

Round 2: 25th pick (57th overall)

Round 3: 25th pick (89th overall)

Round 4: 24th pick (131st overall)

Round 5: 25th pick (169th overall)

Round 6: 4th pick (188th overall)

Round 7: 25th pick (243rd overall)

The Texans better make their bang for the buck in terms of making it count with these aforementioned picks.

But who will be selected first?

We are aware of what the Texans need — a quarterback, offensive line help, secondary assistance as well as beefing up the defensive line.

Adding some special teams help wouldn’t hurt as well but those guys can usually be found in other avenues other than the draft.

It’s best to spend a pick on a player that could likely make in impact at the position he plays and one that emanates versatility.

This has been the theme of the Bill O’Brien era and it’s prudent that they select someone that can do more than one thing.

It indicates that the player is worth of a coveted roster spot and is available to do anything that is asked of him.

Based off of that information, the Texans will select the best player available at a position they need, although they will quick not to admit that there is one.

I honestly think that the player that they end up with will be:

Cam Robinson

The offensive tackle out of Alabama has made multiple visits to the Texans’ facilities and they seem quite high on him.

The 6’6,” 322-pound behemoth will be available at 25 and the Texans will go and snatch him.

Although I think the Texans could trade up to get a guy like Deshaun Watson, Patrick Mahomes or Mitch Trubisky, I just don’t think it’s plausible considering they traded away their 2018 2nd rounder to the Cleveland Browns in the Brock Osweiler trade.

But I’d rather be surprised and hope the Texans trade up but I’m just going off their track record of previous drafts.

We’ll have to see as Robinson does have his weaknesses with his pass protection but that’ll be in Mike Devlin‘s wheelhouse as he could work to develop that.

The first round of the NFL Draft will commence tomorrow at 7 p.m. CDT.

Let’s cross our fingers for the best.

Go Texans.
