The Houston Texans have just a bit over a week left before the NFL Draft and they’ve been active, bringing in prospect after prospect for visits.

There have been many notables that have stopped by so far, with the biggest of names being individuals who play positions that we have a need to fill.

That would definitely be the quarterback and offensive line positions.

They go hand-and-and as the quarterback needs protection from those said men that make it happen.

The Houston Texans will start off the draft with the No. 25 pick in the first-round so it remains to be seen what they’ll do with it.

Will they trade up?

That’s possible, considering their needs at those aforementioned positions.

But word has come out about a potential earth-shattering visit.

Who’s coming to town?

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Clemson QB Deshaun Watson will be flying into Houston today and will stay here through tomorrow (he reported this late yesterday):

Although Watson is scheduled to make a myriad of visits all over the country, it’s definitely notable that the Houston Texans want to bring him in.

Considered one of the draft’s top prospects, Watson doesn’t seem like a Bill O’Brien quarterback.

He’ll leave the pocket when he has to but he has proven that he can stay there for the betterment of the team.

After rushing for 1,105 yards in his sophomore campaign, he reduced his yardage last season to 629, cutting things nearly in half.

His carries were slightly down to 165 in 2015 from 207 the season previous.

The fact that they’re considering certainly indicates that O’Brien is willing to modify his schemes a bit to fit the style of play Watson has.

But it certainly remains to be seen if the Texans have the tools to get him because he will go early and that’s not a lie.

The Texans have limited assets to pull from to trade up as they did deal away their 2018 second-rounder in the Brock Osweiler trade but it’s possible Rick Smith may be maneuver something to get this done.

The chances the Texans draft this guy?

I’d say around 40 percent at the most but there’s a chance!

He is part of a defending champion team and was able to cut into the massive teeth of Alabama’s NFL-ready defense, not an easy feat.

Should we go after him?

Absolutely!

Watson passed for 4,593 yards (67 percent completion percentage) along with 41 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in 2016, his junior and final season.

His QB Rating was 151.1.

Go Texans.
