The Houston Rockets will take on the 31-50 Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, which will be a showcase of the deep bench to get a feel of who will make the playoff roster.

The Houston Rockets will take on the 31-50 Minnesota Timberwolves tonight, which will be a showcase of the deep bench to get a feel of who will make the playoff roster.

Although there will be guys resting tonight on both sides of this match up, it still should be a fun one nonetheless.

So what’s next?

So who’s leading the charge for the Timberwolves?

Karl-Anthony Towns leads the team in scoring (25.1 PPG), rebounds (12.2 RPG) and blocks (1.3 BPG).  Ricky Rubio is in charge of the dimes (9.1 APG) and steals (1.7 SPG).

Let’s talk about what the Timberwolves do well.

They’re offensively decent.  The Timberwolves are 10th in offensive efficiency, averaging 108 points per 100 possessions.

They’re good at moving around the basketball.  The T-Wolves are tied for 7th in assist ratio — along with the Washington Wizards and Charlotte Hornets — with 17.7 percent of their possessions ending with an assist. 

They’re a great rebounding team.  The T-Wolves are 7th in rebound rate, taking down 51.2 percent of missed shots.

Injuries:

Sam Dekker injured his left hand after getting tangled up with Chris Dudley and Patrick Beverley for a loose ball in the 2nd half of Sunday’s match up with the Suns.  It has been categorized as a broken hand and is estimated to be out for the next three to four weeks.  He did have successful surgery to repair the damage last Monday and will be re-evaluated sometime this week.

Clint Capela will likely be out tonight as Mike D’Antoni rotates his resting schedule before the playoffs start.

As for the T-Wolves, Nemanja Bjelica (foot), Zach LaVine (knee), Nikola Pekovic (ankle) have been shut down for the season.
