The Houston Rockets finally snapped what was starting to be an ugly losing streak.

The Houston Rockets finally snapped what was starting to be an ugly losing streak.

It’s just that part of the season where things may not go perfectly but will certainly get back into place.

There’s no doubt they’ll be ready to take on the 24-22 Indiana Pacers, who are as mediocre as it gets but they do some things well (see below).

What’s up next?

So who’s leading the charge for the Pacers?

Paul George leads the team in scoring (22.7 PPG), Myles Turner is the top board-getter (7.4 RPG) and top shot-blocker (2.2 BPG).  Jeff Teague is the top assist man (8.1 APG).  Thaddeus Young holds the torch in steals (1.8 SPG).

Let’s talk about what the Pacers do well.

They love to have a high-volume of possessions.  The Pacers are 11th — tied with the Atlanta Hawks — in PACE Factor, averaging 99.7 possessions per game.

They’re decent shooters but not to a point being efficient.  The Pacers are 12th in true shooting percentage (55.7) and 13th in effective field goal percentage (51.5).

They defend the three-point line well.  The Pacers are tied for 4th in the NBA — with the Los Angeles Clippers and Miami Heat — as far as three-pointer opposition percentage, holding opponents to just 34.9 percent shooting from behind-the-arc.

Injuries:

Eric Gordon was a late scratch in last Wednesday’s contest against the Boston Celtics because of tightness in his lower back and has missed two games so far.  He went through shooting drills yesterday but there no real test to his back.  Gordon tested his back at shoot around this morning and has been deemed as PROBABLE for tonight.  It’s good to see him back in the lineup.

As for the Pacers, Rodney Stuckey has missed some time because of hamstring injury.  Kevin Seraphin has been suffering from a knee injury — both have been deemed as game-time decisions for tonight.
