The High Ticket Prices Factor

It’s the ticket prices!

For years, the Rockets have had among the highest average ticket prices in the league.

In 2016, the franchise was ranked 6th by Statista in terms of the dollars at $67.24 per game.

The team with the highest prices goes to the understandably New York Knicks at $129.38 per game.

The team with the lowest price?

The New Orleans Pelicans at $30.20 per game, that’s pretty darn cheap if you ask me!

But back to my team…

Think about it — the price of an average outing for a family of four when tickets are averaging that much for our team can get quite expensive.

A $70 ticket times four, parking costs ($20), hot dogs/sodas ($40) could soar to hundreds of dollars which could be cost-prohibitive to those families who are stretching every dollar they can to survive.

I personally go to a lot of games myself and these are just estimates from my visits but I think I’m on target with the costs.

The difference is that I currently don’t have to worry about a family to take care of.

I empathize with families that want to go to games but cannot because the ticket prices are too damn high.

There are ways to save — I save a ton of money by parking about two blocks away and I usually eat before I go to the game but you can’t dodge the most important factor — THE TICKETS!
