4. Rookie luck runs out!

A.J. Reed, Tyler White, Tony Kemp and Teoscar Hernandez won’t be seeing as much of the big league activity that they did in 2016.

However, look for these gentlemen, along with the likes of Derek Fisher, Frances Martes, and Preston Tucker to all be apart of the AAA Fresno roster at season start, AND to create farm system depth.

Since catcher Max Stassi is out of minor league options, he will have to clear waivers before rejoining the minors, or may also face being traded to another team or out-righted all together.

To counter this development, the team went out and got Juan Centeno from the Minnesota Twins, ironically the same team that signed Jason Castro as a free agent, to provide a league ready catcher in the event of any possible injury to McCann or Gattis.
