Houston Astros: The Positional Players’ Path to 300 At-Bats

3. Marisnick and MarGo look to be the REAL odd men out on the 25-man roster.

In spite of this notion, both can still get at least 300 at-bats, as I have highlighted above. Jake Marisnick is a defensive specialist in the outfield, and can spot any of the outfield positions if necessary.

However, with his bat yet to come full circle, it will certainly factor into a limited playing time for Jake. His glove will come in handy for late-inning substitutions, regardless.

Marwin Gonzalez should remain the utility infielder, and not be put in the outfield unless in an emergency.

Yulieski Guriel can even get some reps out there during Spring Training for any just-in-case scenario that could pop up throughout the season.

Unless a catastrophic injury occurs in the already massive outfield logjam, don’t expect either of these men to be out there much.
