Whitney Mercilus:Mercilus, who is having an incredible season,injured his back in practice yesterday and missed today’s as a result.He has now been ruledQUESTIONABLEfor Sunday’s game. Although he’s expected to give it go, there is a now a slight chance that he may not be available. Max Bullough, Joel Heath or Brian Peters may have to fill-in if he can’t go. He has 48 tackles, 5.5 sacks, one pass deflection and one forced fumble in 2016 so far.
C.J. Fiedorowicz:The burgeoning tight end suffered a concussion amid Sunday’s 22-17 win over the Colts in Indianapolis. He hasn’t practiced all week and he has been ruledOUTas a result. Fiedorowicz has caught 48 balls for 505 yards and three touchdowns in 2016. He has had 3+ catches per game since Week 4. I’d expect rookie TEStephen Andersonto fill-in for him as he’s going through the NFL’s mandatory concussion protocol.
John Simon:Simon has been dealing with a chest injury for quite some time but his latest ding caused him to exit the game against the Raiders nearly a month ago. He did not return.He hasn’t practiced all weekand has already been ruledOUTfor Sunday.Bill O’Brienhas signaled that he’ll be out for awhile. I’d expectAkeem Dentto start in his place for the time being.
Tyler Ervin:Ervin — the team’s lead kick returner — took a hard hit to the ribs early in the first half of Week 12’s game against the Oakland Raiders. He exited the game and did not return. He has started to practice once again — albeit limited — this week but his status for this week remains uncertain. He now is battling a hamstring injury and has missed two games as a result. For guy that caught 64 passes for 1,031 yards in 2015, he only has 35 receptions for 477 yardson the season thus far.
