Houston Texans’ Tidbits:
Jadeveon Clowney: Clowney has been suffering from an elbow and wrist injury but has battled throughout. He did miss last week’s match up against the Green Bay Packers but has practiced in full for the past two days. Although he’s not fully-healed, Bill O’Brien has given the go-ahead for him to play this Sunday in Indy. His season continues to be unmatched by any he has ever had — with 12 tackles-for-loss, 41 tackles, 11 quarterback hits and three sacks in 2016 so far.
John Simon: Simon has been dealing with a chest injury for quite some time but this past week’s ding to it caused him to exit the game against the Raiders nearly three weeks ago. He did not return. He hasn’t practiced all week and has already been ruled OUT for Sunday. Bill O’Brien has signaled that he’ll be out for awhile. I’d expect Akeem Dent to start in his place for the time being.
Tyler Ervin: Ervin — the team’s lead kick returner — took a hard hit to the ribs early in the first half of Week 12’s game against the Oakland Raiders. He exited the game and did not return. He hasn’t practiced all week and has already been ruled OUT for Sunday. With the status of Braxton Miller being uncertain as well, expect Will Fuller to slide into his spot until both Ervin and Miller are healthy once again. Because of the severity of the injury, it may be awhile.
And here’s the injury report for the Indianapolis Colts:
CB Darius Butler, Hamstring
S Clayton Geathers, Neck
T/G Denzelle Good, Concussion
RB Frank Gore, Not Injury Related (Rest)
DT Zach Kerr, Concussion
WR T.Y. Hilton, Back
OLB Robert Mathis, Bicep
QB Andrew Luck, Right Shoulder
OLB Curt Maggitt, Concussion
CB Patrick Robinson, Groin
OLB Erik Walden, Not Injury Related (Rest)
Good, Geathers, Kerr, Mathis and Robinson are OUT for Sunday. Maggitt’s going through concussion protocol — he’s listed as QUESTIONABLE. Luck is PROBABLE.

Indianapolis Colts Tidbits:
Robert Mathis: The oft-ferocious veteran linebacker has been dealing with a myriad of injuries since the season’s start. After a foot malady, he now is trying to recover from a bicep injury that was recently sustained.
He had a slow start but is now coming on strong with 16 tackles and 3.0 sacks on the season. He didn’t even record his first sack of the season until Week 6. He hasn’t practiced all week so expect fellow veteran Trent Cole to fill his spot for this week.
The Houston Texans are back on the road to take on the Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium this Sunday.
Kickoff is scheduled for noon CST.
The game will be televised on CBS and broadcast on 610 SportsRadio AM/100.3 FM (KILT) & ESPN Deportes 1180 (KGOL) in Spanish.
